Glen Scotia 15 Year Old is a Campbeltown single malt made from unpeated malt and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered.
It matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and refill American oak barrels, followed by a very short finish in Oloroso sherry casks. The fruity, toffee and gentle spice character of the distillery, founded in 1832 as the Scotia Distillery, stays in front.
Citrus peel, ginger biscuits and baked fruit show on the nose. The palate brings juicy apricot and fruit salad with caramelised sugar, oak and a surprisingly dry note. The finish is warm and spicy, with soft honey and oak.
