Glen Scotia – 2011 Campbeltown Saga Release No. 1 Whiskyopolis (70cl, 50%)

A medium-peated Campbeltown single malt from Glen Scotia, distilled in 2011 and matured in first-fill bourbon barrels. It is the first release in the Campbeltown Saga series, bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle with natural colour. Master Distiller Iain McAllister chose medium-peated, medium-charred casks from the rare stocks of peated spirit, which the distillery produces for only one month each year. Warm peat smoke mingles with crisp green apple and grilled pineapple on the nose. Creamy vanilla, melted brown sugar and zesty lemon follow, ending in coastal minerality, sea-salted caramel and lingering smoky embers.
