Glen Scotia – 2014 Single Cask Heavily Peated, Classic Series (70cl, 56.7%)

This is a heavily peated single cask Glen Scotia from the 2014 vintage, matured in a first fill bourbon barrel and bottled at 56.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is the second of three casks in the distillery's Classic Series, limited to 243 bottles. The Campbeltown distillery makes peated spirit for only one month of the year, which makes its peated releases uncommon. The tasting notes describe malted biscuits with melted brown sugar and salted caramel, followed by freshly baked cinnamon pastries and soft smoke. Sweet peat is balanced by whipped cream and orange zest, before warming oak spices.
