Glen Scotia – 2015 Single Cask First Fill PX Hogshead Finish Behind the Blue Doors Classic Series 2nd Unveiling (70cl, 54%)

This is a Glen Scotia single cask from the 2015 vintage, released in the second unveiling of the Classic Series, Behind the Blue Doors. It is cask 3 of 3, finished for five years in a first-fill PX hogshead and bottled at 54% in a 70cl bottle, with 276 bottles from the cask. The series was selected by Peter Greve and Stephan Ehmke together with master distiller Iain McAlister, whose personal touch is on the bottle design. The notes describe dark rum-soaked figs, sticky cola cubes and syrupy stewed black plums, with earthy dark chocolate, bitter walnuts, gingerbread, cinnamon and clove.
