This is a single cask Glen Scotia from Campbeltown, distilled in 2016 and bottled in 2025 after nine years in a first fill bourbon cask. It is an original bottling at a natural cask strength of 58.4% ABV, with natural colour and no chill-filtration, in a 70cl bottle. The cask gave 213 bottles.
Cask 1461 is the third of five in the first Classic Series, Behind the Blue Doors, chosen from the distillery's dunnage warehouses by Peter Greve and Stephan Ehmke with master distiller Iain McAlister. This one is heavily peated.
The nose has tinned pineapple and lime cordial, then bonfire smoke, sea air and iodine. The palate layers smoke over buttery shortbread, vanilla cream and salted caramel, and the finish is long, sweet and smoky.
