This is a Glen Scotia single cask from the 2016 vintage, an unpeated whisky finished in a first-fill Tawny Port hogshead. It is cask 1 of 3 in the second unveiling of the Classic Series, Behind the Blue Doors, bottled at 56.2% in a 70cl bottle, with 201 bottles from the cask. The Classic Series presents single casks from the Glen Scotia warehouses in Campbeltown, chosen by Peter Greve and Stephan Ehmke with master distiller Iain McAlister. The notes describe sea-salted caramel dusted with cinnamon and icing sugar, dried black tea leaves and nutmeg, then vanilla fudge sweetness, earthy black chocolate and lingering oak spices.
