This is a 21 year old Campbeltown single malt from Glen Scotia, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was matured in refill bourbon barrels and refill American oak hogsheads. The casks were then married and given a six-month finish in first fill oloroso sherry casks.
The nose combines sweet, perfumed oloroso with spiced red apple and peppercorns. On the palate come baked red apples, plump raisins, cloves, star anise and cinnamon, with soft vanilla, toffee and sea spray. The finish is long, with a touch of sea salt and sherry dryness.
