This is a 9 year old unpeated Glen Scotia, a special bottling for the 2024 Campbeltown Malts Festival, which is held each May. It is bottled at its cask strength of 56.2%, with natural colour and without chill-filtration.
The whisky spent 8.5 years in first-fill bourbon casks, followed by a six-month finish in fino sherry casks, a less usual choice than oloroso.
The nose brings sea spray, toasted oak, citrus and lemon curd. On the palate it is fresh and intense, with plenty of citrus and sea salt, and the finish is medium in length.
