Glen Scotia – Double Cask Bordeaux Red Wine Cask Finish

This is a Campbeltown single malt from Glen Scotia, the third release in the Double Cask series. It matured first in first fill American oak bourbon casks, then spent nine months finishing in French Bordeaux casks. The nose offers strawberries and redcurrants with a soft honey sweetness from the bourbon casks. On the palate come ripe red fruits balanced by gentle oak, with a touch of salty sea air. The finish is long and warm, with subtle tannin and a spicy note.
