Glen Scotia – Double Cask Limited Bordeaux Cask Edition (70cl, 46%)

This is the third edition in Glen Scotia's Double Cask series, a Campbeltown single malt finished in French Bordeaux red wine casks. It is first matured in first-fill bourbon casks, then spends nine months in the wine casks. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, unpeated, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring. The nose pairs strawberry and redcurrant with a gentle honey sweetness. On the palate come ripe red fruit, smooth oak and a clearly maritime saltiness. The long finish is warming, ending in fine tannic spice.
