Glen Scotia Double Cask Rum Finish is a Campbeltown single malt, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It matured first in first fill bourbon barrels and was then finished in Guyanese Demerara rum casks.
The rum finish draws on local history: records from 1815 show rum casks were traded in Campbeltown's port, before Glen Scotia was founded in 1832. The release is a limited edition.
The nose has sea spray, sweet honey and caramel. The palate brings creamy vanilla, salted caramel, cinnamon and nutmeg, and the finish is long and nutty, with gentle cinnamon spice and a mildly dry close.
