GlenAllachie French Virgin Oak Finish is a 10 year old Speyside single malt from batch 2 of the Virgin Oak series, bottled at 48% ABV. It is of natural colour and has not been chill filtered.
The whisky first matured in ex-bourbon American oak casks. It then spent around 18 months in French oak (Quercus robur) from the Haute-Garonne region. That wood was air-dried for 15 months before it was filled.
The second maturation added silky tannins, sweet spices and fruit notes to an earthy malt.
