GlenAllachie – 10 Years Old Cask Strength Batch 8 (57.2%)

GlenAllachie 10 Years Old Cask Strength Batch 8 was put together by Master Blender Billy Walker, in the year he marks five decades in the whisky industry. It combines whisky from Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry puncheons with a small amount from virgin oak and Rioja casks, matured in Speyside. It is bottled at 57.2%, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, a deep, rich mahogany. The nose offers mocha, nutmeg and walnut oil, with heather honey, sweet raisins and dried red berries. The palate has cinnamon, molasses and honeycomb, then ginger and dark chocolate, with touches of nutmeg and fennel at the close.
