This is a single cask GlenAllachie from Speyside, filled in February 2011 into a ruby port pipe and bottled in 2022 after 11 years. It was selected by Billy Walker and bottled at cask strength in a 70cl bottle.
Ruby port spends a comparatively short time in wood, which keeps its sweet, fruit-led character of berries and cherries.
The nose offers ripe strawberries, cherry, blackberry, nutty caramel and dark chocolate. On the palate there are heather honey, hazelnut, caramel, roasted coffee beans, plum and grape must, with a hint of strong mocha.
