GlenAllachie – 17 Year Old Mizunara & Oloroso Cask Finish (50%)

GlenAllachie 17 Year Old is a single malt matured in Mizunara oak, a Japanese oak, and combined with whisky from Oloroso sherry puncheons and hogsheads. It is bottled at 50% ABV, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. It is the first release in GlenAllachie's Masters of Wood series, created by Billy Walker, who has more than 52 years in the whisky industry. Mizunara is rarely used for maturing whisky because of its cost and the difficulties it brings in production. The aromas include sweet spices, sandalwood and charred oak.
