This is a 16 year old Glenallachie distilled in 2006 and matured in an Oloroso puncheon. It comes from batch 5 and was bottled at 59.8%, with only 699 bottles filled.
In the glass it is autumn gold. The nose offers dried fruit, honeysuckle, vanilla, sultanas and walnuts. On the palate come brown sugar and orange marmalade, held in check by a sharp snap of fresh ginger, and rounded off with vanilla and dark chocolate.
