This is a nine-year-old single malt from GlenAllachie, part of its Wine Series, in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was first matured in American oak ex-Bourbon barrels, then moved into hand-selected European wine barriques for a secondary maturation.
The nose is full of orange blossom, espresso, maraschino cherries and honeysuckle, with candied stone fruit, hazelnuts, lavender and cinnamon. The palate offers dark chocolate, red currants and burnt coffee beans, then crystallised almonds, blackberries and orange zest. Ginger and liquorice appear on the finish.
