GlenAllachie – Meikle Toir The Chinquapin One 5 Years Old (70cl)

Meikle Toir The Chinquapin One is a five-year-old peated single malt from GlenAllachie, a Speyside distillery, in a 70cl bottle. It comes from an independent distillery under master distiller Billy Walker, and it belongs to its effort to make a peated malt of its own kind. The whisky matures in virgin Chinquapin oak from the Ozarks in Missouri. The peat, from St. Fergus, gives a gentle smoke at 35ppm, and fermentation runs for 160 hours. The character is described as sweet spice and toasted nuts alongside the peat smoke.
