Glencadam – 13 Year Old The Re-Awakening (70cl, 46%)

Glencadam 13 Year Old The Re-Awakening is a Highland single malt matured for at least 13 years in ex-bourbon oak casks, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has natural colour. The edition was released in 2017 in a run of 5994 bottles. It marks the reopening of the distillery, which closed in 2000 and started again three years later, and the 13 years reflect the time since distilling resumed. The nose is grassy malt, rich vanilla fudge and lemon oil. The palate is juicy pear and grapefruit, with a hint of rye bread and marmalade and some spiciness. The finish is lingering cinnamon and the warmth of ripe fruit.
