This is a 10 year old Glencadam from Murray McDavid's Benchmark series, distilled in 2012 and bottled in spring 2023 at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. Only 919 bottles were filled.
The whisky matured in bourbon hogsheads, then spent time in first fill Koval bourbon casks. These were ex-bourbon barrels filled with Scotch whisky for the first time.
The nose offers overripe banana and custard-filled pastry, with clear vanilla. The palate is creamy and full, with candied pear, chai spices and a hint of cold whipped cream. The finish is soft and oily, with sweet oak spice.
