Glencadam – Origin 1825 The Rather Elegant (70cl, 40%)

This is a Highland single malt from Glencadam in Brechin, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle and presented in a grey tube with gold accents. The number 1825 marks the year the distillery was founded. It is made in small batches by marrying whisky matured in American white oak bourbon barrels with whisky that was also matured in Spanish oloroso sherry butts. The nose is creamy malt with blossom, a hint of vanilla and a mix of summer fruits. The palate brings banana, pineapple and pear with the sweetness of boiled sweets and gentle spice. The finish is floral, with a sweetness like pear drops.
