Glencadam – Reserva PX Sherry Cask Finish Small Batch (70cl)

Glencadam Reserva is a small batch single malt Scotch whisky from Glencadam distillery in the Eastern Highlands, sold in a 70cl bottle. It is aged in ex-bourbon casks, then finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry butts from Andalucia. The ex-bourbon casks bring vanilla and gentle oak, while the PX butts add dried fruit and a sweet, raisin-rich richness. The nose offers Christmas pudding, dried figs, dark chocolate, cedar and clove. The palate is sweet and layered, with maple syrup, treacle toffee, prunes, maraschino cherries and brandy butter. The finish is long and warming, with cinder toffee, fruit cake and crystallised ginger, ending on cherry jam.
