A Glendalough single grain Irish whisky, finished in Madeira casks and bottled at 42% ABV. It is a single cask release of 456 bottles, each individually numbered.
The whisky spent about three and a half years in ex-bourbon casks, then six months in Oloroso sherry casks before the Madeira finish.
Dark fruit, raisins, pineapple and mango sit on the nose with spice and a little oak. The palate has plum jam, raisins, chocolate, vanilla, nutmeg and black pepper, and the finish is medium to long, fruity and earthy with a touch of liquorice.
