Glendalough Pot Still Irish Whiskey Irish Oak Finish is a single pot still whiskey from Glendalough Distillery in Wicklow, made from malted and unmalted barley and bottled at 43%.
It is matured first in ex-bourbon casks, then finished in 250 litre hogsheads of virgin Irish oak from the Wicklow mountains. Each bottle is numbered and traceable to its cask.
The colour is warm gold. The nose is sweet and citrusy, with vanilla, caramel, banana and treacle over earthy, herbal oak spice and leather. The palate is chewy, warm and buttery, with toffeed pears, treacle, cinnamon, nutmeg and tannic oak. The finish is long, with creamy vanilla, almond, forest fruit and toasted Irish oak.
