Glendalough – Double Barrel Irish Whiskey (70cl, 42%)

Glendalough Double Barrel is an Irish single grain whiskey made from 100% grain, in a 70cl bottle at 42% ABV. It begins its maturation in flame-charred ex-bourbon American oak, then finishes in Oloroso casks from Montilla, a small town in the hills of the Spanish countryside. The nose is rich in dark fruit, cherry, raisins, figs and Christmas pudding, with floral lemongrass, citrus and a touch of nutmeg. The palate is sweet and smooth, with butterscotch, honey, peppercorns, dried fruit, maraschino cherry and brown sugar. The finish brings ginger, a hint of almond and earthy notes.
