Glendalough – Double Barrel Irish Whiskey (70cl, 42%)

Glendalough Double Barrel is an Irish whiskey from Glendalough Distillery, in a 70cl bottle at 42% ABV. It combines malt and grain whiskeys, matured first in ex-bourbon casks and then finished in Oloroso sherry casks from Montilla, Spain. The label shows St Kevin, the 6th century monk who founded the Glendalough settlement. The nose is vanilla, honey and toasted oak with a hint of dried fruit. The palate has caramel, milk chocolate and creamy malt, balanced by raisins and warm spice. The finish is long and smooth, with lingering sherry sweetness and subtle oak spice.
