Glendalough – Double Barrel (70cl, 42%)

Glendalough Double Barrel is an Irish single grain whiskey made in County Wicklow, bottled at 42% in a 70cl bottle. The grain whiskey is distilled from malted barley and other grain, matured in American ex-bourbon barrels and then finished in Oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled without chill-filtration and without added colouring, and has a warm amber colour. The nose brings dark cherries, raisins and dried figs, with floral touches and a hint of lemongrass. The palate is soft, with butter toffee, honey, black pepper and maraschino cherries. The finish is medium in length, with ginger and toasted almonds.
