Glendronach Original is a 12 year old Highland single malt bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in a pairing of Spanish Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks.
The double cask method gives it its character. After at least 12 years in old sherry casks only, the whisky spends a further six months in new American oak.
The nose is sweet, with creamy vanilla, a little ginger, spice and a hint of pear. The palate is rich and creamy, with warming sherry and fruit. The finish is long, dry and full, with traces of nuts.
