This 14 year old single malt from GlenDronach was released to mark the distillery's 200th anniversary. It is named after Boynsmill House, the historic house associated with founder James Allardice, who was known for entertaining guests there.
Master Blender Rachel Barrie chose Oloroso and PX sherry casks, along with a small number of Claret red wine casks as a nod to the wines once served at gatherings in the house.
The nose combines toffee, bramble, stone fruit, hazelnut and raisin. The palate is plush and ripe, with dried fruits and nuts leading to velvety chocolate caramel.
