This is the limited Boynsmill House edition of GlenDronach, a 14 year old Highland single malt. It marks 200 years since the distillery was founded, and the house where its story began, which stood on the site from 1771.
The whisky matured in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks. Master blender Rachel Barrie added whisky from a small number of former claret red wine casks. It is bottled at 46.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colour.
The nose offers sweet toffee, blackberries and stone fruit with hazelnuts and raisins. The palate is ripe malt with a soft, full texture, then dried fruit and nuts give way to chocolate and caramel. The finish is long, with blackberries, juicy raisins and stone fruit.
