Glendronach – 1968 25 Year Old ANA Nippon Airways Exclusive Single Cask 06 (75cl, 43%)

This is a 25 year old Highland single malt from Glendronach, distilled in 1968 and bottled by the distillery in 1993. It is a single cask, one of around two dozen bottled exclusively for the Japanese airline All Nippon Airways, and comes in a 75cl bottle at 43%. The whisky was matured for its full term in sherry casks. It is described as having a clean, chiselled sherry character: meaty, earthy, oily, minerally and very fruity, with a thread of peat smoke. Glendronach's own distillery character is still said to come through the sherry.
