This is a 30 year old Glendronach distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2020 at 51.4% ABV. It is Batch 18, drawn from a single Pedro Ximénez puncheon, and 402 bottles were filled.
The whisky matured fully in that PX puncheon, which gives a dark, rich sherry style.
On the nose there are dark raisins, dried dates, syrup, mahogany and old leather. The palate is full, with thick PX sweetness, dark chocolate, plum compote, espresso and slowly opening spice. The finish is long, warm and syrupy, with raisins, dark cocoa and soft oak.
