This is a 30-year-old single cask Glendronach, filled on 4 April 1990 and bottled in 2020 from Batch 18. It matured in a Pedro Ximenez sherry puncheon, cask 7006, which gave 402 bottles at 51.4%.
Glendronach stands at Forgue, near Huntly in Aberdeenshire.
The nose is intense, with full PX sherry, juicy raisins and orange, a little honey and vanilla, walnuts, dried fruit and dark chocolate. The palate is sweet and rich, with old leather, coffee, tobacco, caramel, cinnamon, orange and honey, and dried figs. The finish is very long, spicy and sweet, with orange, raisins, dark chocolate and old oak.
