Glendronach – 1991-2022 31 Year Old North Star Spirits (70cl, 44.4%)

This is a 31-year-old Highland single malt from Glendronach, distilled in 1991 and bottled by North Star Spirits at the end of 2022 in a 70cl bottle. It was their 21st outturn. The whisky came from a single refill Oloroso sherry butt, which yielded 346 bottles at 44.4%. It is bottled without colouring or chill filtration. The nose recalls cold rain on hot tarmac with milled black peppercorns. The palate brings passion fruit curd on hot buttered toast, and the finish offers Morello cherry with a warm chocolate fondant.
