This is a 31 year old single cask GlenDronach, distilled in 1991 and matured in a PX puncheon. It was bottled in 2023 at a cask strength of 50.9% ABV, with 667 bottles drawn from the cask.
The nose brings dried figs, plum compote, dark honey, old oak and Spanish raisins. The palate is oily and intense, with chocolate, espresso, dates, black cherries, tobacco and a hint of balsamic, alongside aged oak and spice. The finish is long and warm, with cocoa, sweet sherry reduction and hints of cigar box.
