Glendronach – 1992 28 Year Old Cask 7418 Batch 19 (2021) (54.8%)

This is a 28 year old single cask Glendronach, distilled in 1992 and released as part of Batch 19. It matured throughout in an Oloroso sherry puncheon, cask 7418, and is bottled at a cask strength of 54.8% ABV. The cask gave 654 bottles. The long time in sherry wood gives a deep, dark whisky in the classic heavy Glendronach style. The nose is usually described as dark raisins, figs, mocha, old leather, walnuts and spicy oak. The palate is creamy and intense, with dried fruit, chocolate, espresso, plums and cloves. The finish is very long and warming, with cocoa, oak and spice.
