This is a 30 year old single cask GlenDronach, distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2023 at 56% ABV. Only 681 bottles were filled, in 70cl size.
The whisky spent its 30 years in a PX puncheon, one of the sweetest and richest sherry cask types used at the distillery. It is deep, dark and almost oily in character.
The nose brings dark raisins, figs, dark chocolate, old sherry, leather and soft spices. The palate is thick and syrupy, with mocha, black cherry, plum jelly, cinnamon and walnuts. The finish is very long and warm, with cocoa, sweet oak resin and dried fruit.
