GlenDronach – 1993 30 Year Old Single Cask #6753 (52.8%)

GlenDronach 1993 30 Year Old is a Highland single malt from cask 6753, one of the final releases in the distillery's Single Cask series. It was selected personally by Master Blender Rachel Barrie. The whisky was distilled on 11th June 1993, matured in a single Pedro Ximénez sherry butt and bottled in 2023 at a cask strength of 52.8% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered, with colour that comes entirely from the cask, and 595 bottles were released. Tasting notes mention sherry-soaked bramble fruits, sultanas, candied orange, chocolate praline and Morello cherry fruitcake on the nose. The palate brings dark stewed fruits, Black Forest gâteau, leather, tobacco leaf and polished oak. The long finish carries molasses, dried fruit, warming spice and balanced tannins.
