This is a single cask Glendronach, matured for 19 years in a Pedro Ximenez sherry puncheon and bottled in July 2014. It comes from cask 3326, which gave 661 bottles at 55% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
Glendronach stands at Forgue, near Huntly in Aberdeenshire, and was founded in 1826.
The nose is led by sherry and sweetness, with strawberry, cherry and apricot, then vanilla, almonds, forest honey, orange, chocolate and spice. The palate is rich and powerful, with intense sherry, chocolate, coffee, vanilla and a little cinnamon. The finish is very long, with dark chocolate and old oak.
