A single cask Glendronach from 1993, bottled in August 2016 at 23 years old and 51.7% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. The distillery stands near Huntly in Aberdeenshire.
It matured in a sherry butt, cask 447, and was bottled in a run of 642.
The nose is full of sherry, with red fruit, dates and honey, plum, cherry and vanilla; a drop of water brings out hazelnuts and almonds. The palate is rich and powerful, with sweet sherry, caramel, vanilla and cinnamon, plums, dates and dried figs. The finish is very long, spicy and sweet, with raisins, dark chocolate and old oak.
