A single cask Glendronach from the 1993 vintage, dated 17 September 1993 and bottled in 2022 at 28 years old. It comes at 52.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle and was selected by La Maison du Whisky.
The whisky matured in an Oloroso sherry puncheon, cask 7099, which gave 630 bottles. Glendronach stands at Forgue, near Huntly in Aberdeenshire.
The nose is full of sherry and fruit, with blueberry, cherry and orange alongside chocolate, spice, vanilla and almonds. The palate is rich, with chocolate, coffee, vanilla, plum skin and orange marmalade. The finish is very long and sweet, with dark chocolate, sherry and old oak.
