GlenDronach Parliament is a 21 year old Highland single malt, released in 2011. It was aged in a mix of Oloroso and sweet Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.
The name has nothing to do with politics. It refers to the collective term for a group of rooks, and a parliament of rooks lives in the trees near the distillery.
The nose combines soft smoke, lemon juice, cedar, apple peel and toasty oak with date and walnut cake. Golden syrup, juicy raisins and peach lead the palate, and sherry tones carry the finish with chocolate and pepper.
