This is a 31 year old Highland single malt from GlenDronach, distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2022 by North Star Spirits for their Series 21. It was aged in a single Oloroso sherry butt, and 346 bottles were filled at 44.4% ABV in a 70cl size.
GlenDronach is known for richly sherried malts, and this single cask follows that tradition.
The nose brings cold rain on hot tarmac and milled black peppercorns. On the palate there is passion fruit curd on hot buttered toast. The finish offers Morello cherry and warm chocolate fondant.
