This is a 41 year old single cask GlenDronach from Batch 9, bottled at 51.7% ABV. It was distilled on 28 February 1972, matured in an Oloroso sherry butt and bottled in October 2013, with 448 bottles released.
The nose shows sour cherry, toasted almonds, leather and black tea, with faint blackberry and vinegar. The palate opens with jammy, smoky wood, then espresso, dark chocolate and spice, rich and dry in the mouth.
The finish is long, with smoke, espresso and roasted seaweed.
