The first batch of GlenDronach Cask Strength, a no age statement single malt first released in December 2012. It is bottled at 54.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured in Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez casks, which shows in its colour and its strong sherry character. It was bottled without chill-filtration, and all its colour is natural, coming from slow maturation in Spanish oak.
The nose has sherry aromas, golden sultanas with honey, warm oak and gentle ginger. The palate brings toffee and cocoa, then rich sherried dark fruit and orange zest. The finish is long and lasting.
