GlenDronach Cask Strength Batch 12 is the twelfth batch of an edition first introduced in 2012. This Highland single malt matured in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks and is bottled at 52.8% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered, and all of its colour is natural, coming from slow maturation in Spanish oak.
The nose combines rich mocha and creamy cappuccino with orange, raisin cake, cherry liqueur and sandalwood. The palate shows velvety spice and a dark chocolate tiramisu, with flamed Seville orange peel, roasted almonds and crystallised ginger. The finish is long, with amaretto mocha, sour cherry and sultanas on caramelised crème brûlée.
