GlenDronach House Editions Venetian Room is a Highland single malt from a permanent series of three city-inspired whiskies. Master blender Rachel Barrie created the series for the distillery's 200th anniversary. This edition is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, with no added colour.
Venice is expressed through maturation in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks and Italian Amarone red wine casks. Dark cherries, blackcurrant and dates come through, alongside nutty, chocolatey dessert notes.
The nose adds tiramisu, cocoa and amaretti, with vanilla spice. The palate opens with honeyed red plum and almond liqueur, then maraschino cherry, chocolate-coated hazelnut and Black Forest gateau. The finish stays with forest berries, hazelnut cream and caramel macchiato.
