GlenDronach – Peated (2018 Bottling) (70cl, 46%)

GlenDronach Peated is a single malt Scotch whisky bottled in 2018 at 46%, in a 70cl bottle. Unlike the traditionally unpeated GlenDronach style, it is distilled from peated malted barley, a nod to the peat once used to dry barley on the distillery's floor maltings. The peat is subtle, sitting alongside the Highland character and rich sherry notes from the wood. The nose offers ripe gooseberries with cinnamon sugar, crisp citrus, charred wood, ground barley and vanilla toffee. On the palate come oak spices, heather honey, rosehips, barley sugar and white pepper, with gentle peat adding dryness like campfire embers.
