GlenDronach – Peated Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 46%)

This is a peated Highland single malt from GlenDronach, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It recalls the peat once used to dry malted barley on the distillery's traditional malting floors in its early days. The peat is subtle, sitting alongside the distillery's Highland character and the rich sherry notes taken from the wood. The nose combines ripe gooseberries with cinnamon sugar and a crisp citrus twist, over smouldering charred wood, ground barley and vanilla toffee. On the palate, oak spices and heather honey move to rosehips and barley sugars, with white pepper and a dry note of campfire embers. The finish brings crisp fruit and Highland barley character wrapped in gentle peat smoke.
