Glendronach – Peated

Glendronach Peated is a single malt matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks. It is meant as a nod to the distillery's earlier days, when peat was used to malt the barley on site. The nose opens with ripe gooseberries dusted with cinnamon sugar and fresh citrus, then gentle peat, toasted wood, fresh barley and a hint of vanilla toffee. On the palate come oak spice and heather honey, then rosehip and barley sugar, with subtle peat and a suggestion of a bonfire behind. The finish carries fresh fruit, barley and soft peat smoke.
